Don’t expect the style to hit the top of a wardrobe any time soon, but know that this is one of the trends you’ll find for 2011 regarding women’s fashion: the wide-leg pants. Strange, yes. Elegant, definitely yes.
Now wait a second: emphasizing the legs is one of several typical motifs in fashion for women. How can wide-leg pants do that? Do they do that?
It’s important to make this valid point: this trend isn’t for everyone. You have to have a certain body type to have the wide-leg pants work for you, and certain colors do work better than other colors. Typically, the whole wide-leg pants thing has never been a dominant force on the women’s fashion market–but that doesn’t mean you can’t use this trend to create innovative outfits to highlight such characteristics as color and feel.
Flow is a pretty thing to look at it–sort of like a dress. It’s an excellent alternative to wearing a dress if you’re not used to that sort of thing; however, you might find yourself still getting used to the feel of wearing this wide-leg flowing thing around your shapely flesh, because dear God you can’t really see your legs! Well, you couldn’t see your legs with a dress either….
You get the classy style of chic pants, something you might find in the corporate world, merged with the casual, natural and luxurious look of a flowing dress. It’s the in-between. The wide-leg pants fulfills that in-between. Plus the other benefit is the slight sexiness you might find with the wide leg as it does shape the hips and buttocks some but leads it down to a veritable enigma of “what’s underneath all that fabric” sort of thing, sort of like a tease. Dresses do that, too, but not to the extent of a pair of wide-leg pants.
